At KCCCU’s May 9 Event, Professor, coach, movie star, tax attorney and author Bill Resler, presented the topic, “How to Engage the Younger Generation.” Resler is the UW Accounting professor turned high school girls’ basketball coach who was featured in the documentary Heart of the Game. 

Resler talked about key motivational factors that make a difference with young people, and with people of all ages. Key points were:

• Life should be fun. If yours isn’t, change it.
• To err is human, to forgive is mandatory.
• Winning is an attitude, not a result.
• No championship comes without sacrifice.
• Communication is essential.
• Own your own life, but bend to the team.
