Greetings,

Let me start off by saying thank you for helping to make the first half of 2009 an amazing time for the chapter. With your support we’ve held two tremendous events and are in preparations for another great Golf Tournament. The board is also very excited about the launch of our new website. I hope that you enjoy its new features and benefits. A special thank you goes out to Shawn Kellner for his hard work in designing and implementing the new www.kcccu.com website.

During the first half of the year, the KCCCU board worked hard on many things. Two of these items were our luncheons. Our first luncheon was held at McCormick and Schmick’s on February 10th. Jason Knight from Wesabe, gave a great presentation on innovative management of personal finances. He also spoke about his experiences in Japan in the 1990’s and how the current economic environment in the United States is similar to what Japan went through. He then presented a great slide that showed the last 6 recessions the United States has gone through and the encouraging news was that there was always and up side to the end of each recession. The second luncheon of the year led us to Ray’s Boat House on May 10th. Our presenter was Linda Jekel, the Director of Credit Unions for the State of Washington’s Department of Financial Institutions. Linda spoke on the current economic environment in the State of Washington and some of the changes that took place in Olympia during the last legislative session. Both of these events were very well attended. Since the events, I’ve heard lots of great feedback from many of you.

Up coming for the King County Chapter of Credit Unions is our annual golf tournament. This year, once again, we’ve partnered with the Pierce County Chapter of Credit Unions. We will be holding the 3rd Annual King and Pierce County Chapter of Credit Unions Golf Tournament at Washington National on June 30th. I look forward to seeing everyone out there for another fun event.

The King County Chapter of Credit Unions thanks you for your continued support.

Thank you,

Lee Harris
Chapter President

Greetings,

The King County Chapter of Credit Unions board would like to say thank you for making 2008 an amazing year. In 2008, we held four events at four great venues. Our speaker topics focused on Community Banking, Recruiting and Retaining, and finally a Futurist. We also held our annual Golf Tournament at Washington National.

In 2009, we have another four great events planned. The King County Chapter of Credit Unions board has worked hard on selecting three great speaker topics and once again will be holding our annual golf tournament. Our first speaker is Jason Knight from Wesabe. This event is scheduled for February 10th at McCormick and Schmick’s. Our next event is tentatively scheduled for May 13th. The focus of this speaker will be legislative affairs. Then we turn our focus to the 3rd annual King and Pierce County Chapter of Credit Unions Golf Tournament at Washington National. This year’s tournament will take place on June 30th. Everyone, keep your fingers crossed for another beautiful day. Finally our fourth event is tentatively scheduled for October 21st. The focus of this speaker centered on organization and time management.

The King County Chapter of Credit Unions thanks you in advance for your support throughout 2009.

Thank you,

Lee Harris
Chapter President
